Bookkeeper

Location: Mauritius

Whether you are an early-career professional or already have some bookkeeping experience, this role offers hands-on exposure across multiple entities within a supportive and collaborative team environment.


You will work closely with Finance, Payroll, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and high-quality reporting. The role offers genuine responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to deepen your technical accounting skills using systems such as QuickBooks.


Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of your Manager, you will:


  • Perform monthly bank imports and reconciliations for multiple entities using QuickBooks

  • Clear and reconcile fees on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Process and post accounting adjustments approved by the Manager to support accurate financial reporting

  • Assist with onboarding and setting up new entities within QuickBooks, including configuring chart of accounts and system mappings

  • Review and maintain appropriate balance sheet classifications and captions to ensure correct financial statement presentation

  • Liaise effectively with the Payroll team to resolve discrepancies, clarify transactions, and ensure accurate postings

  • Support the preparation of management information and financial reports as required

  • Maintain organised and well-documented working papers to support audit and internal review processes

  • Contribute to process improvements and support the continued development of internal financial procedures


What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (candidates from other disciplines with strong numerical aptitude will also be considered)

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Confidence working with financial data, reconciliations, and account classifications

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet monthly deadlines

  • Professional, reliable, and organised approach


Desirable

  • Previous exposure to bookkeeping or accounting environments

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Experience working with multiple entities or in a group structure
