This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a senior, client-facing leadership role within a growing outsourced accounting and payroll business.
Offshore Group provides outsourced accounting and payroll services to a wide range of clients across the UK, Jersey and Guernsey. As Associate Director, you will manage a portfolio of commercial clients, oversee the delivery of weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and lead a small team of bookkeepers and accountants.
This role would suit someone who is technically strong, commercially minded and confident managing both client relationships and internal delivery. You will play an important role in maintaining high-quality client service, supporting business growth and helping shape the continued development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Directors, you will:
Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring weekly, monthly and quarterly deliverables are completed accurately and on time
Oversee and support a small team of bookkeepers and accountants, providing leadership, guidance, review and day-to-day management
Develop strong relationships with multiple clients, gaining a clear understanding of their business practices, reporting requirements and financial information needs
Review weekly, monthly and quarterly management accounts and reporting packs before client delivery
Review financial statements for companies in accordance with IFRS, FRS 102 or other relevant accounting standards as required
Support the Directors with the implementation of business strategy for existing clients and prospective clients
Assist clients with cash flow management and provide practical financial insight where required
Identify opportunities to drive growth through existing client relationships, new business activity and high-quality service delivery
Help improve internal systems and processes, identifying areas where accounting software, reporting tools or workflows can be enhanced
Ensure client work is well documented, deadlines are managed effectively and service standards are consistently maintained
Contribute to the continued development of the business, including team development, client service improvements and operational efficiencies
What We Are Looking For
Essential
At least 10 years’ experience in a senior accounting role
Proven leadership experience, including managing or supervising a team
ACCA qualified or equivalent
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience reviewing management accounts and financial statements
A demonstrated ability to manage and work effectively with a varied portfolio of clients
Experience working with commercial clients and managing multiple client relationships
Sound understanding of accounting software, with the ability to identify areas for system and process improvement
Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements and accounting standards, including IFRS and FRS 102
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Strong communication skills and confidence liaising directly with clients
Commercial awareness and the ability to understand client needs beyond the numbers
Professional, reliable and proactive approach
Desirable
Relevant experience across financial services, real estate and commercial sectors
Experience within an outsourced accounting, fiduciary, corporate services or professional services environment
Exposure to clients across Jersey, Guernsey or the UK
Experience supporting business development or identifying growth opportunities through new and existing client relationships
Strong systems knowledge, including accounting software and reporting tools
